Of the few movies Heather and I own, Kieslowski’s Decalogue series is one. So uh, we like it, right? Ok. Well, readers, we also like Tomas Twyker’s films Run Lola Run (which is the first DVD I ever bought because I managed to run over the one I rented with my car and had to buy the video store a replacement copy) and Princess and the Warrior. That being said, a new movie is out that combines a Kieslowski screenplay with Twyker’s directing. It’s called Heaven. Arvo Part contributes to the soundtrack, for those of you that like brooding contemporary classical compositions. We wish we’d seen Together when it was in the theatres, but we missed it. “What other movies does Dave own?” a bored reader might ask. Last year I got my punk rock Heather a bootleg copy of the rare film Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains. We also have The Fisher King, Close to Eden, Buckaroo Banzai, Vatel, Moonstruck, The End of Violence, and Unstrung Heroes.
