I finally finished all the things I had to do for my Antioch University application. Last night after my full work day I had to drive down to a sister office and help with a network migration. Several hitches came up due to corporate oversight (I love that phrase, in both its meanings!) and I ended up being there till close to midnight. So then I get home an hour later and do a final revision on my poems and rewrite my admissions essay. I haven’t read it with the sun shining yet, and it’s probably on it’s way to get dropped off at the admissions office right now, so I hope it wasn’t too punchy (another word in which both definitions apply equally!). You know, I think it was a little punchy. But that was my problem, the whole essay needed some punch.

Another thing I’m happy about is that this week I finished my longest and most complex poem to date. It wasn’t complex as far as verse form, I’ve done a couple of sestinas and villanelles. This was complex on a concept level, and (today, at least) I’m satisfied with how it came out. I’ll post it in a few days, after the euphoria of having completed it wears off and I can do one more smart revision.
