So I read in the local paper a couple of months ago that there was going to be a lecture at the library by a guy who works in our neighborhood comic book shop about the latest in European board games. But I missed it since I was out of town. But I went into the shop (Danger Room) last week to get the latest issue of Mouse Guard for A and asked how the lecture went. Found out there’s a bunch of guys my age who get together once a month to play crazy new stuff. That could be fun.

Then I saw this 3-ring binder titled “Game Reviews” and picked it up. Dozens of well written reviews. Turns out they’re from boardgamegeek.com. Would you be brave enough to register an account there? I did, of course. Aren’t you curious to see how 2000+ boardgames are ranked relative to each other? Do you want to know what the best games to buy young kids are? Turns out Gulo Gulo, a game about baby wolverines and vulture eggs, wins hands down. They even have a way to facilitate trades of games between members. I’m interested in a game called Memoir ‘44. I’ll have to drop in every month or so.
